Saaddi Dilli, the administrative capital of India is also much visited destination internationally and falls on the famous Golden Triangle tourist circuit of India the other two angles of which are very two other important heritage cities Agra and Jaipur. However just like any other tourist destination in the world, it is not a bad idea to have some insight about the climatic and weather conditions of the city you wish to travel next.
There are primarily 4 main seasons that prevail in Saddi Dilli; these are the hot and humid summers, the traffic jamming rains (heavy rains and extremely heavy rains at times), the lovely spring and the chilly winters. Typical summers here are very hot and humid and kids enjoy vacations from school for a good month and half during this time, the temperatures can range from 25o C on a very lucky day and can rise beyond 46o C on tough days and generally averaging around 38o C to 42o C. The heat wave experienced during the summer months make matters worse. Therefore, In the interest of public safety we find it appropriate to highlight the need and importance of carrying appropriate clothing and stuff while travelling to Saddi Dilli during the summer months.
Winters though are my personal favourites and the falling temperatures have hardly ever been a problem for me, leaving aside a couple instances here and there when I was bed ridden ailing with a frustrating fever on hogging on to prescribed medicines while fighting my way to glory with the extreme phlegmatic cold and cough. Nonetheless, the temperatures mainly hovers between 2o to 10o C, at times however it may drop even lower. And just like the hot wave worsens the summer heat, the cold wave from the Himalayas also has a similar effect on the winter temperatures; the only difference is the visibility which is at times reduced to zero due to the dense fog which also engulfs the entire city which already is under the blanket of cold.
Saddi Dilli’s weather is appropriately pleasant during the spring months of the year which are September to November and February to April. Therefore you may not want to think twice before planning a visit to Saddi Dilli during the months of September till April.
